Igor Sukhoivanov
Was born in 1954, in Kirovograd, Ukraine.
He received his MS degree in electronic engineering and PhD degree in quantum electronics and fiber optics from the Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics, and DrSc in optics and laser physics from Karazin National University Kharkiv, Ukraine in 1976, 1985 and 2002, respectively.
Since 1985, he has been an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and then Professor of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, National University of Radio Electronics, Kharkiv, Ukraine.

From 1987 to 1988, he was a Research Scientist at Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany), where he carried out researches of Multiple - Mode Optical Fibers.
In 1994, 1997, and 2002 he was Guest Scientist at the Institute of High Frequency Techniques of Karlsruhe University, Germany (grants of the German Academicals Exchange Service for the research of QW Semiconductor Lasers), and in 2001 at the CEM2 Laboratory, University of Montpellier, France.
He is Member IEEE since 1994 and since 2000 he is a Senior Member of IEEE Lasers and the Electro-Optics Society and Chairman of Ukraine IEEE-LEOS Chapter. He is a member of the Optical Society of America and SPIE, as well as Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Annual International Conference on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling (LFNM), and the Conference on Advanced Optoelectronics and Lasers (CAOL). He is a member of program committies of International conferences: Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory (MMET, Kharkiv, Ukraine) and Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON, Poland).
He is author and co-author of over 45
scientific paper in journals and 80 in conference proceedings.

Alla Kublik received the degree in electronic engineering from the Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics (KhIRE) in 1977.
She worked as an engineer in the Kirovograd
aircraft repair factory.
She worked as an engineer in the department of High Frequency Physics, KhTURE.

After the termination
of postgraduate study she is
an assistant of the associator reseacher in the KhIRE. Courses:
"Bases of Quantum Devices", "Electronic Systems",
"Electrodynamics and High Frequency Technique",
"Bases of Fiber and Integrated Optics" and "Semiconductor
Lasers" .
She is a Secretary of the Annual International Conference on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling (LFNM), and the Conference on Advanced Optoelectronics and Lasers (CAOL).

After receiving PhD degree 19 papers (including 10 in foreign journals) and 36 in conference proceedings have been published.

Was born September 3, 1977
in the Crimea, Ukraine.
In 1999 after preparing of the Diploma
work in the Institute of High Frequency Technique and Quantum
Electronic in University Karlsruhe Germany he received the
degree in electronic engineering from the Kharkiv State
University of Radio Electronics (KhTURE). His diploma work
was prepared due to the Contract Cooperation between the
universities and thanks to the close cooperation with his
supervisors Dr. I. Sukhoivanov (KhTURE), Prof. W. Freude
(Univ. Karlsruhe) and M. Krieg (Univ. Karlsruhe). The theme
of his diploma work is "The Development of Mathematical
Model of Semiconductor Multiple-Quantum Well Laser".

1999 - 2003
- Ph.D. Student of the Department of Physical Foundation
of Electronic Engineering, KhNURE.
Due to LEOS grant he presented his paper to the conference "Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optiñs" on the 13th of September 2000 in Nice in France.
He received the grant from DAAD (www.daad.de) for scientific investigation in the university of Ulm (Germany). In result, he was with Optoelectronics Department of the university from 1 Oct. 2001 till 1 Aug. 2002 (supervisors are Prof. K.J. Ebeling and Dr. Michalzik). The theme of work was the Theoretical investigation of Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers with incorporated two-dimensional photonic crystal.
From 2004 - candidate of phys.-math. sciences (PhD).
2004 - 2007 - assistant of the Department
of Physical Foundation of Electronic Engineering, KhNURE.
Areas of scientific work:
- Mathematical modeling of Edge-Emitting Lasers and of Vertical-Cavity Semiconductor Lasers for the optimization of their operation parameters. The models are created and used on the physical presentation of the photon generation, of the carrier diffusion and of the beam propagation inside the laser cavity. The work is closely connected with the program of the realization of models in software packages
- Numerical investigation using effective index model of photonic crystals and optical devises which incorporated them
- Numerical methods in the Photonics area
- Participating in the development of LaserCADIII software for semiconductor laser simulation, IEEE student team project and distant education system for study of semiconductor lasers
